City noise-monitoring project
Original practice text
Zusätzliche Übung
The city has placed temporary noise sensors at twelve locations near major roads. The sensors record sound levels but do not store conversations. Data are transmitted once a day to a central server and published as weekly averages. The project will last nine months.
Residents can suggest additional locations, although the project team is not required to accept every suggestion. A location may be changed if construction work would distort measurements for more than two consecutive weeks. The project is intended to support future transport planning; it does not itself introduce new traffic restrictions.
